Cancellation & Refund Policy
Last updated: 6 July 2026 · BusBroker.ie is operated by Parkvale Transport Limited
Plain-English summary of your cancellation rights. The full detail is in our Terms & Conditions.
If you cancel
| When you cancel | What you get back |
|---|---|
| More than 7 days before travel | 100% refund |
| 7 days to 48 hours before travel | 50% refund |
| Less than 48 hours before travel | No refund |
Why the sliding scale: once a bus and driver are committed to your date, the operator has usually turned away other work for it.
How to cancel: email bookings@busbroker.ie from the address you booked with, quoting your booking reference. We confirm receipt within 1 working day. Refunds go back to the original payment method within 10 working days.
If the operator cancels
You pay nothing extra and lose nothing:
- Your job is instantly re-offered to our full network, including standby operators held in reserve for exactly this.
- If we secure a replacement, your booking continues at the same price (or less — never more).
- If we cannot replace the vehicle before your travel date, you receive a full, automatic refund, and we'll have told you at the earliest possible moment.
Operators who cancel are penalised on our platform through reliability scoring, so it's rare.
If no operator ever accepts
You are only charged after an operator accepts your job and you complete payment. If your job is never accepted, you pay nothing.
The 14-day cooling-off question
EU distance-selling rules give a 14-day cooling-off period for most online purchases — but passenger transport booked for a specific date is one of the legal exceptions under the European Union (Consumer Information, Cancellation and Other Rights) Regulations 2013. The table above applies instead.
This policy does not affect your statutory rights under Irish and EU consumer law.
